THE SCIENCE BEHIND El Sol Cigars

One of the first thing that I considered before bringing back the El Sol cigar brand was what size cigar should I pick.  When your inhale a cigar, the smoke flows through the cigars length.  Over time, this smoke will build up inside the cigar.  To minimize this buildup, I wanted the highest aspect ratio possible to reduce any negative impact on flavor.  For this reason I settled on the Grande 60 X 6 inch cigar size.

As you can see from the chart above , simply having a larger diameter or longer cigar does not mean it will have a higher aspect ratio.  Because I am an engineer by trade before I became a cigar enthusiast, I wanted to look at things from a mathematical point of view.  The Grande cigar which is a 60 ring size and 6 inches long, offers the cigar smoker the highest aspect ratio of any other cigar available.  The other advantage, is that the Grande will enable you to enjoy your cigar for at least 1 to 2 hours, if smoked properly.
