El Sol cigars have always been hand made for more than 97 years. This month we visited our production facility in Tamboril, Santiago to see the new 98th Year anniversary edition cigars being produced. All cigars currently being produced are Grande's 60 X 6 in either a Colorado or Habano Claro wrapper. In early 2026, El Sol will start production on the first Maduro cigar for sale mid 2026.

Every El Sol cigar is individually wrapped for protection from drying out while being shipped and stored. Th wrappers also protect each cigar from rubbing and posibly cracking the tobacco leaf wrappers. After receiving your box of El Sol's, through the mail, always allow for several days in your humidor for the cigars to reach their proper humidity again. Cracking wrappers, splitting wrappers are typical of cigars that need to be re-hydrated to the proper humidity.

Once an El Sol cigar is produced, the cigar band is applied. During earlier decades of production in the 1980's and up to the 2010's. El Sol cigars did not have a cigar band on them. Only during the previous 3 years has El Sol started using cigar bands. The current Cigar band was designed by Italian artist Filippo Giansanti.

El Sol is excited to present our new logo which takes it's inspiration from the earlier designed cigar bands from artist Filippo Giansanti. The new look of El Sol matches the new styles of our cigars and represents the new El Sol Cigars for 2025 and beyond.
